A Welcome to the 2026 Season
A very warm welcometo the 2026 season to our players, thier families, the support team and our sponsors.
This is a big year for the Club. Over the winter we completed the submission of the planning application for the new storage facility that will replace the old and very unsightly containers situated next to the pavilion. The application required a series of topological, arboricultural and environmental surveys plus planning consultancy which represented a significant capital cost to the Club. Thankfully our application was succesful so we can now focus on the fund raising which will enable us to start the build.
In addition, we are working up plans to provide a new disabled toilet facility, improvements to both the ladies toilets and changing facilities and the provision of a fully accessible pathway that will link the car park to the pavilion thereby allowing all year round access to all those that wish to visit the Club. All of this will require a very significant fund raise from both individuals and corporates plus some detailed applications for grant funding from the likes of the ECB County Grants Fund, The Cash4Clubs Fund and the Community Lottery Fund grants fund. There is much work to do.
On the cricketing front the Senior Section will once again field two teams on a Saturday participating in the Kent Village League as well as a Sunday Friendly team that provides such a valuable stepping stone for our Junior members that want to participate in Senior cricket. There will also be the usual midweek 100 Competition which is always fun!
We are delighted that so many of our seniors will be returning for another season and that we now have such a great collection of younger plays making the transition from the Junior Section.
As always none of this is possible without a wonderful team of volunteers that provide so much of their time and energy without fuss or recompense and all of our sponsors, particularly our kit sponsors JM Finn, TN17 and Benenden School who continue to give so generously.
Should you wish to know more about the funding of the special projects mentioned above please do get in touch.
