Sissinghurst CC – Junior Membership

Places for the 2025 season are now full in our Under 7, Under 9, Under 11, and Under 13 age groups.

To add your child to the waiting list, please email Lewis Clift (Head of Junior Cricket) at juniorssissinghurstcc@gmail.com

We are still welcoming applications for our Under 15 teams (boys and girls). Interested players should also contact us via the same email

Once places are available all Junior Membership will now be completed on line through the SPOND App.

The new form will let you sign your child up for the junior section of Sissinghurst Cricket Club. Once submitted, the Club will let you know whether there is space to start immediately, or whether you will have to go onto a waiting list.

In order for the Club to be compliant with the Club’s insurance policy all those representing the Club must be Registered Members which requires the completion of the Membership Form and the payment of the annual Membership Fee in line with the Club’s protocols. Failure to do so is technically a breach of the conditions of the Club’s insurance policy and as such prevents non-compliant members from representing the Club.

Under the new rules imposed in May 2018 regarding data protection we need permission to store details about you and your child(ren). We will assume to you agreeing unless you specifically object by sending us an email to sissccplayercontact@gmail.com. You will find a link to our data protection and other policies later in this form.

Personal information on medical conditions, GP surgery and emergency contacts will be stored within Spond but will only be visible to age-group coaches and administrators and will only be accessed in the event of a relevant emergency.

The Club uses the ECB’s Play-Cricket system to score matches. Player Data from this form may, therefore, be entered onto that system (this only relevant for players playing in the U11 and older age groups).

Your registration will not be completed until you have either paid subs for 2025 by BACS. Subs for the year are based on school year / age group (all of these details will be included in the acknowledgment email you get once you have submitted this form):

  • Years 2-4: £80 (discounted from £90)
  • Years 5-8: £90 (discounted from £100)
  • Years 9-13: £50 (discounted from £60 and includes playing in senior matches at no further cost)

These Membership Fees include a £10 discount as the Club’s contribution to the cost of buying the 2025 SCC Junior playing top which can be ordered through the Club Shop on the website.

The Club’s Bank Details are as follows:

  • Lloyds: Account Number: 00286889
  • Sort Code: 30-92-36
  • Reference: (Surname) Junior Subs

Many thanks.

Online Net Booking System

Welcome to the Skedda online booking system for the outdoor nets at Sissinghurst Cricket Club (SCC).

This system is for SCC members ONLY and should NOT be used to book sessions for third parties that are not members of the Club. This has been put in place to:

  • enable us to manage the use of the nets and allocate them fairly between members and the coaching requirements of the Junior Section.
  • create, in the future, an opportunity to generate income for the club through fees paid by third parties for net hire and voluntary donations from members.

We have tried to make it as straightforward as possible. The system has been set up so that:

  • members can book one, 60-minute session per day.
  • members can book a maximum of three sessions in a week (Monday to Sunday).
  • members must give at least 48 hours’ notice of a booking to ensure they receive the code.

There are no bookings allowed on a Wednesday evening, after 12 noon on a Saturday or any time on a Sunday as these times are reserved for Senior and Junior Net Sessions and match day practice for SCC teams.

You will be asked to register when you first use the online booking calendar. This will either be by clicking on a time or by clicking on the ‘Register’ button at the bottom left of the booking page. You will be asked for your email which will then kickstart the registering process.

Having booked a time slot, you must immediately email the Club at juniorssissinghurstcc@gmail.com so we can provide you with the Lock Code to access the net cages. It is your responsibility to ensure the net cages are securely locked when you leave. Failure to do this or sharing the Code with a third party will lead to you being barred from making further bookings. The Lock Code will be changed every 2 weeks.

All children under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult at all times

Nets are free to use for members. These guidelines and rules are subject to change. We may adjust once we understand demand.

Public Liability Disclaimer: Anyone using the Sissinghurst Cricket Club (the Club) Net Cages does so at their own risk. The Club accepts no responsibility for injuries to any party or third party, however caused when using the net cages; neither the loss or damage of personal property which any user of the net cages or anyone accompanying them may have with them. All children under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult at all times.

Junior Coaching Opportunities with ECB Advanced and International Coach – Liam Cook

We are delighted that Liam Cook, ECB Advanced and International Coach and Head of Cricket at Benenden School, has again agreed to make some time available to offer our Junior Members individual or small group coaching sessions in the SCC Net Cages.

Liam has coached with Kent County Cricket across a number of the Junior Age Groups and is currently the Head Coach of the Brazilian international women’s team when not managing and developing cricket at Benenden School.

Liam will be available from the Tuesday 16th April (weather permitting) until the beginning of the Summer Holidays at the following times:

  • Tuesday 4pm to 8pm (if light allows)
  • Thursdays 4pm to 8pm  (if light allows)

As these times coincide with Junior matches, Liam will only have the use of one of the net cages so the other is available to those playing in the match.

Should you wish to book a session please act as follows:

  1. Contact Liam on WhatsApp 07791 548556 or by email liam_cook_8@hotmail.com and agree a time and date.
  2. It will be for the Member to then check and book the time on the SCC Net Booking System following the usual guidelines. You must book at least 48 hours ahead of your lesson or access can’t be guaranteed and you may still be charged by Liam.
  3. Please note that Liam will be acting in a personal capacity, not an SCC coach, so will be making a charge for the Coaching Sessions. That charge will be agreed with Liam and paid directly to him. SCC will not make a charge, to the member, for the use of the net cage.
  4. The standard SCC Public Liability Disclaimer will apply to these sessions.
  5. All children under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult at all times.

Junior County and Area Success

End of Season Awards

The Club would like to extend many congratulations to all our Junior Boys and Girls who have been taking part in the recent Kent County and Spartans Area Trials.

We had six of our girls participating in the Girls County Trials and fourteen of our boys in the Spartans Trials which represents almost 20% of our junior membership. An absolutely fantastic effort and a real testament to all the hard work you have put in to improve your skills as cricketers.

There are too many to mention, on an individual basis, but we do feel that Freddie Grierson-Rickford and Bea and Alice Hoffman deserve special mention for making it into their respective Kent Age Group Squads, the County game will be richer for your involvement.

We would also like to take this opportunity to extend congratulations to Rachel Bright (our first female recipient) for being awarded the Roger Agar Junior Player Award, to Freddie Grierson-Rickford for being awarded The Fergusson Young Cricketer of the Year Award and Seb Littlestone (still only 14 years of age) for being awarded the Second XI Player of the Year Award at the recent Club Annual Dinner. All three have made outstanding contributions over the last season.

Project Nets

New County Standard Net Cages to Support Club Development

We are delighted to have completed the construction of the two County Standard fully enclosed net cages on time and on budget. As the photos show they look fantastic and will further add to the excellent facilities we all enjoy at SCC. Many thanks to all those that have contributed their time and/or financial support, we could not have done it without you. The completion of the nets allows the Club to look at increasing the membership numbers across both its Senior and Junior Sections so should you be interested in learning more about please do make contact.

This is a hugely significant step forward for the Club and will allow us to further promote both our Junior and Senior sections ahead of the 2023 season. It is still not too late to contribute so please visit our GoFundMe page at  https://gofund.me/733d6c6f
