Seven weeks ago we lauched Project Inclusion and Growth to raise funds for a new disability compliant pathway from the car park to the pavilion, a new disabled toilet facility, a refurbishment of the ladies toilets and a new storage unit to replace the old containers.
Yesterday the total funds raised smashed through the £60,000 mark. The Club are hugely grafeful to The ECB, Sport England in conjunction with the National Lottery, a whole host of amazing private donors and the following corporates: Shotcrete Services Ltd, UKV International, Caxtons Commercial, BSG Valentine, C&W Architects and Chris Saunders Architectural Consultants for all your fantastic support.
We kept raising the bar and you kept jumping higher. Absolutely brilliant – Thank you
We are delighted that SCC will be holding, weather permitting, five Boot Fairs in 2026. Full information can be found in the Boot Fair section of the Club website.
Please note that the Boot Fairs are an important revenue creator for the cricket club. As such we would ask that all those visitors to the Boot Fairs consider a generous donation to the bucket holders on the entry gates. Thank you.
We are delighted to be holding the Clubs Annual Dinner at The London Beach Hotel on the 29th October. This provides a great opportunity to celebrate another great season for the Club and to recognise those that have performed both on and off the field. Closing date for attendance is Friday 10th October.
On the hottest day of the year so far, SCC were delighted to extend a very warm Club welcome to the Kent LDPD Disability team on Sunday 28th July.
An excellent cricket match, tea and BBQ were enjoyed by all and the day was a great success. As a Club, we are extremely proud that are very own Ben Agar represents the Kent LDPD team and it was a real honour to be able to organise and run such a brilliant day. It is a very real reminder that we are an inclusive Club and that cricket is a game for all.

Many thanks to the volunteers for all their help and for making in one of Amanda Agar’s (Ben’s mum) proudest moments.
In our continuing effort to promote cricket as the sport of choice for girls, we are delighted to confirm that the SCC Girls Section have agreed a working relationship with Benenden School to develop girls’ cricket across both organisations.
This has the potential to be a very exciting development for SCC, allowing us access to the school’s facilities, its coaching staff and a pool of players that will, over time, allow us to develop a wider set of “all girls” teams that can participate in a growing number of competitions across Kent and Sussex. It will also create an opportunity to improve our visibility and promotion to both our existing and future sponsors and affiliates.
The newly appointed Head of Cricket at Benenden School is Liam Cook. Liam is an ECB Advanced Coach who has trained extensively across both Senior and Age Group cricket in Kent and Devon. Out of our summer season he is the Head Coach of the Brazil Women’s cricket team, spending 6 months of the year developing the game in South America. He will bring huge experience to the development of SCC girls’ cricket not just for the players but also our coaches. We share the same desire to allow all of the girls to develop their cricketing skills to the fullest potential be that to play village cricket or to progress through the County pathways to area, county and international representation.
Benenden School Headmistress Samantha Price said: “I am delighted to see that Cricket is booming at Benenden and this is undoubtedly being greatly aided by our burgeoning partnership with Sissinghurst Cricket Club. We have some very fine players indeed and the interest from Benenden girls will only increase in tandem with the ever-improving on-field quality. I look forward to seeing this partnership go from strength to strength.”
The early sessions, on a Sunday evening at Benenden School, have seen a tremendous turnout from both SCC and the School. The pool of talent is really inspiring and we all look forward to taking this alliance forward through this season and beyond.
